ABSTRACT

This chapter reviews the global business software leader in which SAP shows how social media can be used to support and to facilitate stakeholder engagement. The SAP Community Network (SCN) was launched in 2003, back then called the SAP Developer Network. The SAP NetWeaver technology platform enables the composition, provisioning and management of SAP and non-SAP applications across a heterogeneous software environment. The SCN involves the implementation of the best practices of social media and Web 2.0. It engages experts with real-world experience across a variety of industries and job functions, to collaborate on a global level. The role the SCN plays is to encourage CSR customers to be active participants in the community, sharing their difficulties and solutions. Within the SCN, there is an active CSR and sustainability area used by employees, customers and partners. They share the best CSR and sustainability practices and ideas, as well as helping to create the solutions to the problems arising from CSR.
