ABSTRACT

Lifebuoy was launched in 1894, William Lever’s goal being to help bring affordable hygiene to Victorian England at a time when epidemics of typhoid, smallpox, cholera and diphtheria were a constant threat. It is one of consumer goods giant Unilever’s oldest brands, and one of the first truly global brands. Since its launch, the brand has championed the message of health through personal hygiene.
