ABSTRACT

The populated models drawn from the case studies using coding are compared and contrasted through the use of Social Network Analysis and graph theory metrics. The specific mission observed involved the force attending a meeting of village elders, alongside identifying and engaging a series of Improvised Explosive Device factories in the vicinity. Exploration of the results of the Event Analysis of Systemic Teamwork analysis for each case study highlights a number of interesting findings. In the intra-team study a higher level of tasks was linked to more effective decision-making, whereas in the inter-team case studies a higher level of tasks was linked with less effective performance. Higher levels of sociometric status were linked to more effective decisionmaking in the tank crew study, suggesting that a greater percentage of agents, making a greater contribution to the communication flow, is beneficial in line with the higher levels of transactive SA within this system.
