ABSTRACT

A systems-based methodology was utilised to populate this model with empirical data, with the objective that such modelling could provide a greater understanding of the processes involved in such incidents. The efficiency of these links is further enhanced by the team members' schemata, which enable them to develop accurate expectations of the scenario unfolding around them and appropriate information identification, interpretation and integration. The research has illustrated the importance of negative, or broken, links between the F3 model factors. A model and a series of metrics to explore the Human Factors issues behind incidents of fratricide, and to make predictions about the future occurrence of fratricide, has been developed. Efficient communication is required in order to ensure that members are able to identify, interpret and integrate information appropriately. The chapter also presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book.
