ABSTRACT

The transcription of the teaching the Conceptual Template process (CT) to a licensed professional practitioner. Because the nature of these essential concepts and their interrelationships can be complex, particularly with regards to morality and fairness or justice concerns, it is suggested that this method of counseling is most helpful to couples when it is used in a more informal and down to earth manner. The transcript covers multiple sessions where the teacher illuminates why the CT can be a beneficial tool for the couple therapist, by either implicitly or explicitly relating how the practitioner could adopt and integrate specific CT constructs into their practice. Consistent with this aim, the term reality is defined by the couple through “Socratic” questioning and dialogue and if necessary didactically refined by the practitioner.
