ABSTRACT

The philosophical concepts integral and necessary for cognitive and cognitive-moral development, embodied in the Conceptual Template are: subjectivity, objectivity, truth, knowledge, belief/opinion, value, rights, morality and justice. The conceptual awareness of objectivity or objective reasoning and being able to distinguish it from subjectivity or subjective reasoning, even if to only a limited degree, is indispensable to more fully understand our experiences. Objective thinking/reasoning or objectivity, in contrast to subjective reasoning or subjectivity seeks to an impartially understand a reality independent of one's personal subjective feelings, beliefs or opinions; it is based upon seeking substantive evidence or proof and thereby attempts to exclude, an arbitrary predetermination, and forgone conclusions. The understanding of the meaning or construct of objectivity as distinguished from subjectivity has the paralleling logical-rational realization; by definition, that subjectivity flows in the wake of objectivity in being solely personal.
