ABSTRACT

Ours has been a long journey, one that began thousands of years ago. We crisscrossed thousands of miles of land, from northern Mexico to the southern-most tip of South America, and from the desert coastlines along the Pacific Ocean to the coastal plains facing the Atlantic Ocean. During our voyage we ventured into strikingly diverse landforms and gained knowledge of many kinds of peoples who have inhabited LAC for millennia. We also forayed into the lives of some of the tens of millions of LAC peoples in the US. I hope to have made clear the remarkable diversity of LAC societies and cultures, past and present.
