ABSTRACT

Education is no longer the key for transformation of consciousness, but education is absolutely necessary for transformation. To understand the relationship of education and consciousness it is necessary to think dialectically, in terms of ongoing apparent contradictions. It cannot be understood if we just think linearly. However, we need an education that does not make the students afraid of studying, but curious, full of desire to study, because every time we begin to study, we must have in ourselves the certainty that at some moment we will become full with pleasure. And this is the moment in which we arrive to knowledge. To change this, education needs to embrace philosophy. Thus, we need an education which helps us to be not solely objects of history but also subjects of history.
