ABSTRACT
Using interviews and participant observation, the multiple artistic projects of Slava Polunin are examined through the lens of the studio archetype. From his early mime studio to the international clown troupe Licedei to the latest festivals at his house of wonders Le Moulin Jaune, Polunin’s celebration of life provides a framework to deepen this study’s understanding of studiinost and communion.
