ABSTRACT

In preparing a map which covers four present-day political units, Mr Milne has availed himself of the best maps published in respect of each of these areas: for the part of Guiana which is now British the official map of I 9241 , for that which is Dutch the Overzichtskaart van Surinama of I9IJ, for French Guiana Guffroy's large map of I 895-I90I, and for the country which is now Brazil a section prepared by the Brazilian Society of Engineers as their contribution to the International map of the world. He has also used the Admiralty charts of the coast and such special studies as that of William Curtis Farabee~ in the country at the sources of the Essequibo and the Corentyne.
