ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces some of the method/ological considerations which are central to a theorisation of the lives of acquired brain injury (ABI) survivors. After considering the method/ological complexities of the study, the author outlines the biographies of the six participants in the study. He explores some of the central concerns in the disability research. He also introduces the participants, using their own words to encourage the reader to consider each participant as a living, breathing person. This is an important notion to retain at the forefront of consideration of the everyday life experiences of the participants. The author explores the use of power through a careful engagement with the lives of the participants. Considering the role of time in the lives of the participants, it is crucial to appreciate the importance of power due to the changing nature of ABI survivors' lives.
