Introduction

Furthering sustainability perhaps represents one of the oldest and yet most complex challenges faced in human history: to enable ways of living, which can be sustained on Planet Earth. This book concerns how action research might have a role to play enabling new forms of social learning and imagination between citizens and scientists in order to address sustainability as a democratic challenge.
