ABSTRACT
Politics is the art of living well together. That art exhibits the good that the community seeks through the governance of a civil order that binds its members. In the classical tradition the good that the civil order seeks is justice. To achieve that good it builds the city whose beauty is to be the counterpart to the good. The civil order controls what is built, which means that in the lives of citizens, politics is more important than architecture.
