ABSTRACT

In this chapter, examples of jurisdictions that continue to enshrine anonymous donation in law are highlighted. A consideration of the details of such laws illustrates that not all of the jurisdictions are the same. One cannot simply list jurisdictions that have laws enshrining anonymous donation because while all jurisdictions noted in this chapter have anonymity (or confidentiality) in common, some provide for the release in varying degrees of other information. Access to information by donor-conceived people thus ranges from no information to scant information about blood type and age to more detailed non-identifying information.
