ABSTRACT

An effective organization ensures that clear lines of authority exist, and that all members of the project know and willingly accept what they have to do to make the project a success. This is part of the management communication framework, essential for motivating all the staff employed. Good management communications include adequate feedback paths through and across the organization. These allow progress to be monitored, difficulties to be reported back to executive management, and expert specialist advice on technical or commercial problems to be sought and given. Every matrix organization a coordinated matrix in which the project manager act merely as coordinators without line authority. Organization charts cannot show all the subtle nuances of power and, how power is distributed between the project managers and the functional managers. A task force is an extreme form of a project team. It demands total dedication to the project, sometimes almost with fanaticism.
