ABSTRACT

This chapter recommends a number of touch points, where people should sit down with their supplier to review the progress and health of the project. It recommends two types of touch points in the following sections: When value is delivered the touch points when people have the opportunity to evaluate and adjust. Regular reviews meetings the touch points that determine whether they are on course, whether anything is likely to blow them off course and what should be done about it. If a project has a sponsor who is unable or unwilling to get along to the formal meetings, the project sponsor is probably at the wrong level in the organisation or is sending a clear message that the project is unimportant. The steering meetings are important, but regular project team meetings that review, progress, issues and risks are the heartbeat of any project and provide the groundwork and information needed for successful steering meetings.
