ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the generated output of Standard Causal Unit (SCU) and Standard Node Term (SNT) and the different alternatives and tools for their further processing and analysis. It illustrates the datatables in the figures are based on the output data of the automatically installed demo projects and can therefore be generated when testing CMAP3. The SCU and SNT datatables and their filtering, display and export facilities provide a set of basic tools and options for comparative causal mapping (CCM) analysis. Technically, a Focal Map consists of those standard node terms which are linked to a specific focal SNT selected by the researcher and are available in the last-generated SCU database. In typical CCM studies, a visual graphic display of causal maps can augment the text or datatable and numerical indicator based analysis. When using CMAP3, the convenient way of producing visual causal maps is to use IHMC CmapTools, a popular and freely downloadable software application for concept mapping.
