Organizational leadership and the traits of great leaders and the link between these and the pursuit for sustainable competitive advantages in organizations are approached next. As an undergraduate student Richard Branson was not your run-of-the-mill studious type. From an early age Branson had a strong inkling for business and running the school magazine was one of his first projects. He showed from very early on a strong entrepreneurial spirit. In the beginning it was complicated, as the registering office did not want to patent the Virgin name, considering it to be a bit on the rude side. As it turned out Richard Branson ended up entering the financial services business. One of the greatest challenges facing senior managers today is the imperative of leadership and strategic vision. Akio Morita, former Chairman of Sony, had it in his mind that there was a latent need in the market for what he designated as personal portable sound.
