ABSTRACT

The strategy of a corporation should be clear-cut and well defined but there are situations where a single strategy can box the corporation into a corner. This may not matter when the external business environment is in a predictable steady state. Perfect adaptation to a particular niche can maximize profits. However, when the external environment is in a state of flux, and there is uncertainty in areas such as technology, markets and the challenge of shifting to sustainable policy, adaptability becomes more important than perfect adaptation.
