ABSTRACT

This chapter illustrates how people can challenge the management to start the FORTH method and how people, together with top management, can formulate an assignment during the innovation focus workshop. In the FORTH method the realising of the innovation assignment always takes priority. The innovation assignment usually ends up as a long piece of business text. When the innovation assignment has been determined and the team have been put together, people invite the team members for the FORTH-kick-off-workshop. During the kick-off workshop there are three essential activities which affect the effectiveness of the process: getting acquainted, discussing the innovation assignment and generating and choosing the innovation opportunities with the accompanying expedition goals for the stage Observe and Learn which starts directly after the kick-off-workshop. Travel and accommodation costs vary considerably depending on the luxury of the chosen location for the FORTH Kick-off workshop and the two-day brainstorming session.
