ABSTRACT
This chapter presents an overview of the cyber security controls. Cyber security continues to be a challenge for Cloud service providers and users and simple dependency on connectivity is a huge issue in and of itself. The Cloud security model must support a virtualised multi-tenant environment with secure and isolated virtual tenancy, as well as a protected virtual network infrastructure. The main threats to cyber security systems today are social engineering, intrusions of various types, application exploits, DoS attacks and malware. Business continuity planning (BCP) addresses business continuity through events on all parts of the scale, from the very small to the very big and ensures that the organisation can keep on providing services and it remains profitable and efficient. Social media penetration testing is increasingly used to assess the risk of data leakage and the reputational harm via social media friend networks, public posts and network analysis.
