ABSTRACT
This chapter has two main purposes: fi rst, I shall introduce the very idea of diagnostic cultures, which will be analyzed throughout the book, and second, I shall articulate the theoretical approach that will be used to analyze the phenomenon of diagnostic cultures. This approach is cultural psychology.
