ABSTRACT

To acquaint participants with disciplinary and grievance procedures. Let people from the human resources office look over the situations and their handouts to check for accuracy and to make any comments and suggestions that will help them in this exercise. Set the handouts where they can get to them easily during the training programme. Then, gather information on people organization's disciplinary and grievance procedures. Produce a one- or two-page handout to be used in this exercise. Thereby, get copies of organizational brochures, pamphlets, or handbooks regarding disciplinary and grievance procedures. Prepare a handout listing half a dozen situations in which someone might file a grievance or in which a manager or supervisor might take disciplinary action. Choose fairly standard situations. The idea is to raise awareness of personal rights and standard procedures, not to exchange lurid possibilities or outrageous past situations. The purpose of this activity is to share information about disciplinary and grievance procedures, involved workplace personality conflicts.
