ABSTRACT

Captaine Harcote being now willing to surrender his grant, and to joyne with Captaine North in passing a new Patent, and to erect a company for trade and plantation in the Amazons, and all the Coast and Countrey of Guiana for ever. Whereas Roger North, and Robert Harcourt Esquires have founde out and discovered meanes by shippinge to take Journeyes unto the River of the Amazons in America, aswell for the conversion of the people inhabitinge thereabouts to the Christian faith as for the enlarginge of his Majesties domynions, and setling of trade, and trafique for diverse comodities of his Majesties kingdoms with those Nations. The Coast of Guiana contayneth many goodly Rivers, and harbours, and is well peopled, where the English are more desired then any Nation whatsoever. As of the Amazones, so of the continent of Guiana, the greater part, and the riches thereof, hath never been discovered by any Christian.
