ABSTRACT
This work has investigated the English students who studied at the University of Leiden in the years 1575 to 1650. These students have been compared with the English students at home as well as at other continental universities and with the Leiden student population. Moreover, this comparison has been set in the context of the close Anglo-Dutch relations and the academic appeal of Leiden University.
