ABSTRACT

Finally, we must deal with the motives of those who chose to be ordained to the priesthood at the Roman curia instead of in their home diocese. As we have very few indications from the candidates themselves of their motives, this chapter cannot do any more than present a range of possible motives for ordination at the Roman curia. Some of these motives were downright criminal, others legitimate but morally questionable, and yet others perfectly legal and understandable.
