Entrepreneurship in China, especially in the early stages of the economic reform, had to be a double mission because the market mechanisms and government interventions were intermingled in the entrepreneurial process. In 1995, Huo Hongmin was honoured as one of the 'Exemplary TVE Entrepreneurs' by both municipal and national governments. In May 1991, the first batch of Huaqi Nectar was dispatched to Beijing.
