ABSTRACT
Europe is of considerable importance for development. Europe’s input is particularly vital for Africa and sub-Saharan African, which has been largely left behind in the process of globalisation and has failed to make the progress in economic development and poverty reduction which a number of Asian countries have over the past decade or so. Europe is the main trading partner for Africa and its main provider of development assistance.
