ABSTRACT
As a general rule, what relationship exists between NMCs and ecclesiastical authorities? What problems can NMCs introduce to cause ecclesiastical authorities concern? For what reason may the latter deny canonical recognition to a community which requests it? How can you explain the fact that some communities, despite a lack of recognition, are fully legitimate and supported while others which are recognized are viewed with suspicion?
