Macro Game Theory provides a structure a concept, if we will that allows a more prescient analysis of things that have occurred within the organization. A certain low-level antagonism between some of the players implementing the undesirable strategies and Blizzard sprang up, with characteristics resembling the relationship between government and the governed. In Game Theory parlance, the payoff matrices can change dramatically and suddenly, and from causes that have nothing to do with deliberately introduced epidemics, like the Tainted Blood incident. The only way management information streams can become game-changers is if they deliver accurate, timely, and relevant information. In short, observing the behavior of players in MMORPGs can provide key insights to the behavior of participants in the real-world free marketplace. The innovation of the adversarial players in World of Warcraft far outpaces Blizzard Entertainment's ability to quickly and effectively return the world of Azeroth to Blizzard's ideal, intended state.
