ABSTRACT

This chapter provides a starting point for the definition of meeting rules and templates, which can be adapted to our organisation methods and practices and implemented in our global project or program. Global programs and projects often involve people from different organisational units and companies who have different standards, methodologies and tools for project management. These project managers might unite their efforts at the beginning of the project and define a common communication strategy for meetings, based on the standards of the organisation with the higher level of maturity or expertise in the project domain. Every meeting type requires the use of different communication means depending on the meeting format, frequency and audience. It is important to provide guidance to all global stakeholders on when to organise a meeting by audio, video or web conferencing. Clear rules can also be defined for occasions that require a face-to-face meeting.
