ABSTRACT

This chapter suggests to improve the adoption of collaborative project management software, by having all project managers and team members across the globe using the same rules and practices, with the help of senior stakeholders. The collaborative project management software can be combined with video or web conferencing tools, to allow team members from different locations to work together when producing the project information. The project manager can identify the stakeholder requirements when performing the communication planning, and produce an index of the information available directly in the project management software tool, with instructions on how to obtain it. The stakeholders must use the software to obtain more information on the project, and only request it from the project manager when specific requirements cannot be satisfied by the existing reports and interfaces. The information in the project virtual room and the project management system will then form the basis for all regular meetings.
