ABSTRACT
Capitalism is built on the assumption that selfish greed works as a mechanism for allocating resources and running society. However, the secret of human success is the ability to work together and display less selfishness behaviours in order to be able to share in common success. A stable and sustainable world would be dominated by human-scale communities in which ‘selfish altruism’ applies.
