ABSTRACT

‘Well-formedness’ criteria apply to any outcome, including a communication. Communication forms a big part of NLP, and for many people offers a chance to try out the goal-achieving principles and processes described earlier. Many goals we set have communication implications, or form part of an outcome: for example, to maintain or enhance a relationship, to gain respect or attention, or to achieve a goal with the help of others, such as a team. This chapter looks specifically at outcomes. It gives you the opportunity to reinforce what you have learnt about outcomes and communication presuppositions and to apply it immediately in this important area of communication.
