ABSTRACT

This is normally the longest, most complex and risky stage in any the Human resources (HR) transformation technology project. Project managers have a number of mechanisms for controlling project delivery. This involves logging key risks, including an assessment of their potential impact and probability of occurring or controllability. Despite risk management, they need to be logged and assessed for impact, and mitigating actions identified so that they can be managed. Detailed project or work stream plans may be maintained within a specialist project management package. Performance against the quality plan should also be monitored. The outline test approach set out in Project Initiation Document needs to be fleshed out into a testing strategy so that detailed planning can commence in a timely manner. Programs typically take longer to specify and build than package configuration, because they use less powerful computer languages. Thorough user acceptance test (UAT) should be undertaken to ensure that the technology successfully supports the end-to-end business processes.
