ABSTRACT

This chapter shows that an Integral University has the potential to contribute substantially to the holistic renewal of individuals, organisations, communities and societies. It introduces the major design principles for the Integral University. Each of these Uni-Versities represents an actualisation of one of the four Realities and Realms, achieved through the application of transformative Rhythms to the four developmental Rounds. The chapter identifies for the research and learning programmes, the socioeconomic foundations, governance structures, and approaches to accreditation. Integral Development invites us to fundamentally review and renew our conventional take on what a university is about. By introducing four new Uni-Versity types, culminating in the Integral University, the university is placed right in the centre of society. It is newly designed to play its role as society's core development agent, addressing its most burning issues, by involving individuals, organisations, and communities.
