ABSTRACT

The concept of foreign trade activity is used in Russian foreign trade legislation in its public law part. According to the Law on the Fundamentals of the State Regulation of Foreign Trade Activities, such activities stand for foreign economic transactions regarding goods, services including works, information, and intellectual property. So, in this case, the essential elements of the activities that the parties belong to different states and that they are commercial or entrepreneurial nature. The Law on the Fundamentals of the State Regulation of Foreign Trade Activities contains, in its part concerning foreign trade of goods, the third criterion of foreign trade activity: the border crossing of goods or their import into or export from Russian territory. The legal regulation of foreign trade in Russia is based on the Law on the Fundamentals of the State Regulation of Foreign Trade Activities, which is a general law and purported to integrate whole system of regulation of foreign trade in the country.
