ABSTRACT

Many of the social interactions, such as grooming between primates, and the transfer of social information, are about transactions. Transactions and sharing are a critical part of interaction, both from the point of view of resource allocation and the building of trust. The benefits of the digital public space to creative production are not just limited to the ability to share content in a way that allows it to be adapted, but also the very distribution itself and the ways that digital sharing allows real time collaboration. This can range from a small group collaboratively editing a document in real time on cloud based services such as Google drive, to the construction of large constantly evolving wikis and community projects. Returning to digital content, much online ‘free’ content is funded by advertisements. Digital technology also allows new forms of collaboration and sharing for collaborative working, joint ownership and resource management.
