Knowledge and information are important corporate assets that when managed strategically can sustain the organization to withstand financial and other crises and assist the development of innovation, creating competitive advantage and profitable business outcomes. They are often referred to as intangible assets, assets that are not physical or touchable. However, this is not to imply that they are insubstantial.
