ABSTRACT

This chapter explores how the models used to examine innovation adoption have developed over time, and concludes by proposing a further development. It also explores The Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) and DeLone and McLean IS success model. The chapter intends to assess the model, which is developed based on Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA), Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Frambach and Schillewaert's models using actual measures of usage with multiple sets of variables in order to fully examine the extent to which the new model can help to understand usage behavior. It seeks to develop an advanced innovation adoption model combining multiple sets of factors found in previous models and various innovation and management literature in order to examine a broader perspective which will help in understanding individual's adoption of innovation and usage levels. The UTAUT is used to construct the advanced research model of innovation adoption.
