In the preceding chapters I have touched upon some of the most important and recurrent issues that emerge from the list in Part II. But a glance through a few pages of that list shows that there are many other matters that are of potential interest. This chapter is in the nature of an omnium gatherum, which – if nothing else – will serve to illustrate the variety of uses to which music books were put.
