ABSTRACT
Countries are listed in alphabetical order of the sigma used in Repertoire international des sources musicales (RISM), NG and other standard works of reference. At the beginning of each library section there is a brief head note, giving the address of its online catalogue, sometimes followed by other information about the collection. Under each library single volumes are listed first, in alphabetical order of the composer's names, and under each composer in chronological order of publication. Tract Volumes are listed next, in alpha-numerical order of their shelf marks. It should be emphasized that only books containing manuscript inscriptions and other marks of ownership of interest to this study are included. The list should in no way be regarded as a complete guide to the libraries holdings of Short-Title Catalogue (STC) music. The incipits of pieces of music are mostly given with added bar lines, but otherwise with a minimum of editorial intervention.
