This chapter focuses on media in the Russian Federation attempt to report on the Russian War on Terrorism. An essential role and theme for the media is the appearance of consensus and unity in society. Various media organizations, both Russian and international, have re-evaluated their stance in the wake of the attacks and they report on terrorism, when it is involving hostages. The problem of ensuring media responsibility and a flow of correct information from the mass media was raised by Sergei Ivanov on the Russian Press Day.
