ABSTRACT
You can apply the argumentative model both when you read a social science report
and when you write one yourself. To demonstrate this, we reconstruct our own use
of the model during the course of writing and rewriting Chapter 2 on the charac-
teristics of displays. Hence, before you go on, we recommend that you have a quick
look at that chapter, and then continue to consult it as you proceed. Later in this
chapter, we illustrate how to apply the model when reading a social science report.
We apply it to Chapter 4 of this book, which relates to the basic traits and tasks of
property spaces, and, therefore, it is useful for you to consult this chapter too.
