ABSTRACT
This chapter examines the most prevalent and far-reaching of Missing Leadership. It is based on information extracted from the internet encyclopaedia Wikipedia, which will be sufficient for people's illustrations of Missing Leadership. In its early days, the Wikipedia site had a reputation for sometimes having facts wrong but this has improved greatly over recent years. It also discusses the sinking of the Titanic. The ocean was calm and the sky clear but general warnings of icebergs had been received from other ships and Captain Smith had altered his course to the south, that is, toward warmer water and away from the ice shelf. During the evening at least two specific warnings that large icebergs lay in the Titanic's path were received but not delivered to the bridge. Effective problem-solving is particularly challenging in today's rapidly changing global environment and the process, style and methods adopted must be appropriate for this and guard against group think.
