ABSTRACT

Forced marriage is a complex, contentious topic which contains a number of MisLeadership categories and requires several elements of Globally Fit Leadership (GFL) to work towards a solution. There is a definite gap between the results of forced marriages and what Globally Fit Leadership would lead to. According to Her Majesty's Government (2009) a forced marriage is a marriage in which one or both spouses do not consent to the marriage and duress is involved. Poverty is also a critical factor and a common reason why parents may encourage a child to marry. One of the greatest global sporting events that has taken place nearly every year since 1903 and one of the greatest tests of human endurance is the Tour de France cycling race. The asbestos debate offers a fascinating and powerful global case study which demonstrates mankind's intrinsic capability to mislead and knowingly inflict fatal consequences upon countless vulnerable victims.
