ABSTRACT

Corporate multipreneurs refers to those entrepreneurial employees and executives who are faced with the challenge of continually looking for opportunities and developing new ventures within their organizations. Engaging in entrepreneurship is a strategic move for firms in order to leverage their resources to gain competitive advantage. The Corporate venture funds have been mentioned here as a way for organizations to invest in start-ups with high growth potential that, when it materializes, can contribute to the growth of parent company. Corporate venture capital (CVC) programs can be considered a special case of multipreneuring. They are independent enough to be considered separate entities, allowing them to act with start-up mentality and away from high-risk entrepreneurial activities and an emphasis on financial goals. General Electric Company (GE) is the most impressive diversified technology and financial services company in world. Investing heavily in research and development (R&D) globally enabled GE to continually innovate and keep its position as one of the world market leaders.
