ABSTRACT
This chapter examines devoted extensive news reports and commentaries to the incident, a more complex media narrative would emerge. It searches for the primary media themes, it sought to answer several central research questions: Was the president successful in dominating the media discourse about Obama's policy proposals for Afghanistan and the rationale for why America fought. The Afghan public's growing sense of doubt and frustration in the face of mounting violence was another major focus of media stories in early November. Media reports of violence across the Af/Pak region in no way ended in the wake of Obama's address on the surge in US forces. Political figures on the conservative side of the political spectrum swiftly moved to add their own negative take on the dilatory nature of Obama's fall deliberations, and the media provided numerous forums for them to voice complaints.
