Back to the drawing board: project and contract risk

The initial assessment is inadequate: People are optimistic and hopeful, rather than objective. They make instant decisions. Later they will say, ‘It seemed like a good idea at the time.’ Managers make assumptions – that everything will go well, and there will be no holdups on the project. They don’t imagine that technical problems might occur. And they don’t do enough research.
