ABSTRACT

As we have previously discussed, complex projects are defined by the number of potential variables that are difficult to plan or predict. Since human behaviour is one of the most unpredictable of these variables, it is worth trying to assemble whatever information is available that might help us understand the factors that affect patterns of behaviour. This chapter provides a brief introduction to some of the observations, theories and practices from the fields of psychiatry and psychology that have an effect on how people successfully work together in a group.
